- “Bitcoin Tuesday” | $1m| Giving Block| charity
The Giving Block crypto-based charity, in partnership with the Gemini crypto exchange, is launching a charity event “Bitcoin Tuesday” on December 1, during which it plans to collect at least $1m in cryptocurrencies and then send it to various charities.
2. Medibloc| $3.5m|Company K Partners, IMM Investment and Naver D2SF| series A round
Korean medical tech startup Medibloc raised $3.5m in series A round funding from Company K Partners, IMM Investment and Naver D2SF. One of the primary goals of MediBloc is to establish a holistic healthcare platform that will revolve around providing services to individuals at the core. The team is developing 3 projects: Medipass (patient application), Dr. palette (disease database) and Panacea (blockchain platform with medical data).
3. Ziglu| $8m | Seedrs| crowdinvesting
UK-based cryptocurrency app Ziglu raised over $8m via crowdinvesting platform Seedrs from 1245 investors. Ziglu allows users to buy, store and sell Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Litecoin, and XRP. Earlier this year, the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) approved the payment platform as the Electronic Money Institution.
4. NYDIG| $150m|2 new funds
Digital finance company NYDIG has raised $150m in two new funds. The assets were received from 2–3 clients. It is known that $50m will only be used to buy bitcoin, there is no information on the remaining $100m now. NYDIG raised $50m in equity in October. The platform allows financial institutions, banks, and high net worth private investors to buy and store cryptocurrencies.
5. Human Rights Foundation| $50k|Gemini| grant
Crypto exchange Gemini is donating $50k to the Human Rights Foundation to fund “open source software which [improves] the privacy, usability, and resilience of the Bitcoin Network.”
6. Cambridge Blockchain| undisclosed sum|Blockchains| acquisition
Blockchains Management, Inc., an affiliate of Blockchains, LLC (collectively, “Blockchains”), a blockchain software development company committed to protecting and empowering individuals, announced its acquisition of Cambridge Blockchain, Inc., a blockchain-based identity management and compliance software solutions provider. The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
7. Bitwala| $18m|Earlybird, Coparion and Global Brain| private round
Bitwala, a German startup offering banking services with the option to buy cryptocurrencies, raised $18m from lead investor Earlybird featuring Coparion and Global Brain. The company has been operating since 2015 and has over 150,000 clients in 32 countries around the world.
8. 1inch| $12m|Pantera Capital and others| private round
1inch, a DEX aggregator, raised $12m from lead investor Pantera Capital with ParaFi Capital, Nima Capital, LAUNCHub Ventures, Spark Capital, gumi Cryptos, Fabriс Ventures, Struck Capital, Rockaway Blockchain Fund, Spartan Capital Securities, Blockchain Capital and private investors. These funds will be used to further develop a variety of 1inch products, hire additional team members, fuel the project’s expansion into new markets and to amplify marketing activities. Previously, the project team raised $2.8m in August.
9. GDA Group | Global Fund Management | new venture capital arm
The GDA Group opens a venture capital arm, Global Fund Management, to help institutional and accredited investors invest in cryptocurrencies, including DeFi and NFT.
10. Visa and Circle Internet Financial | partnership
Visa has partnered with Circle Internet Financial to integrate USDC stablecoin into a global payments network of 60 million merchants. The integration will reduce commission costs for global transfers, as well as speed up and optimize them. Circle has raised $271m in previous rounds of funding, most recently in July 2020.
11. Gitcoin Grants| the 8th round of the WEB3 funding program
From December 2 to December 17, the 8th round of the WEB3 funding program for Gitcoin Grants projects will take place, and a hackathon will also be held as part of the program. We expect over $1m to be distributed during the event. Sponsors include Matic, Binance, 1inch, Tellor, Gnosis and other projects and individuals.
12. Climatetrade| $1.21m|Borderless Capital| private round
Climatetrade, the CO2 offset marketplace, announced that it will use the Algorand blockchain for data trading. The company also raised $1.21m from Borderless Capital. The funds will go towards strategic goals and expansion.
13. The Waves Association | $1.7m | grants
The Waves Association from December 1 of this year to February 1 of the future year accepts applications for grants for projects from the Waves ecosystem in the Web 3.0 Development category. In the current round, it is planned to distribute 250,000 Waves tokens (about $1.7m), the maximum grant for one project is 100,000 Waves tokens (about $ 700k).
14. API3| $10–15m| Mesa| TGE in auction form
API3, a decentralized oracle network that previously raised $3m in seed, is now holding a public auction on Mesa. During the auction, 20m API3 tokens are sold at prices ranging from $0.3 to $2. Also, the token is already traded on Uniswap and other exchanges.
