Сartesi is partnering with Gitcoin to launch a matching grant round with $20k in prizes! This is the finale of Cartesi’s DApp incubation program that began last fall. In that round, the top three development teams were selected to get mentorship and earn $20k each (after hitting predetermined milestones) for building with Cartesi’s Descartes SDK.
2. Evolve Funds Group | bitcoin ETF
The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) has approved the bitcoin exchange-traded fund filing of Evolve Funds Group Inc, barely two weeks after giving Purpose Investment Inc. the go-ahead to launch the world’s first physically settled bitcoin ETF. It will be recalled that on January 29, 2021, Evolve Groups Inc., one of Canada’s fastest-growing ETF providers with $1.6b in assets under management, filed a preliminary prospectus for its EBIT bitcoin ETF with the OSC, in a bid to make it easier for Canadians to jump onto the bitcoin bandwagon.
3. Celo | grant
Celo Camp Batch 3 is open, new projects will get grants and investments. Looking back on 2020, Celo Camp held its first 2 batches and received a combined 486 applicants from over 70 countries, spanning 6 continents. We welcomed 35 Celo Camp graduates to the Celo ecosystem including Batch 1 winners Pesabase and MugglePay and Batch 2 winners Paychant and Moola. In addition, teams received a total of $1m in grants from the Celo Foundation and from early stage VC funds.
4. Async Art | $2m| Lemniscap, the LAO, Signum Growth and others| seed
Async Art, a Silicon Valley nonfungible token platform, has secured over $ 2m in seed funding from Lemniscap, Galaxy Interactive, Signum Growth Capital, Semantic, Blue Wire Capital, Collab+Currency, Inflection, Divergence Ventures, the LAO and Placeholder.
5. ChainGuardians|$1.2m|AU21 Capital, GD10 Ventures and others| strategy round
ChainGuardians is a blockchain meets superheroes gaming ecosystem built on the Ethereum blockchain. Project raised $1.2 m from AU21 Capital, GD10 Ventures, GenBlock Capital, GBV Capital, Moonrock Capital, Moonwhale, Morningstar Ventures, and Twin Apex.

Blockchain.com has raised an additional $120m from Moore Strategic Ventures, Access Industries, and others
7. Uniswap, Aave, Synthetix and others| Bitwise | new fund
Crypto asset manager Bitwise says it has launched the first DeFi index fund. The fund is launching with a small amount of seed assets with subscriptions occurring twice a week. Initially, the constituents of the fund will include Uniswap, Aave, Synthetix, Maker, Compound, UMA, Yearn.Finance, 0x, and Loopring.
8. Sygnum|undiscloused sum|SBI Holdings| strategy round
SBI Holdings, a Japanese financial services firm, is to lead an ongoing strategic fundraising round for Swiss digital asset bank Sygnum. The firm, which has bases in Switzerland and Singapore, said the fundraising effort will have brought in investment of around $30m over the past six months, helping the firm grow its assets under administration, which stood at over $500 million as of January 2021.
9. BTC.com|$90m| 500.com| acquisition
Chinese sports lottery service provider 500.com has acquired mining pool BTC.com. Reportedly, 500.com’s acquisition of BTC.com involved buying the company out from Jihan Wu with around 10% of shares from 500.com in a share transfer agreement.
10. Nexus Mutual |$2.7m| Collider Ventures with participation of 1Confirmation, Blockchain Capital and others| strategy round
Nexus Mutual, an alternative risk sharing platform, has raised $2.7m in a strategic contribution to its Foundation treasury. The effort was led by Collider Ventures with participation of 1Confirmation, Blockchain Capital, Version One, Dialectic and other leading institutional and individual investors in crypto space.
11. MicroStrategy | $600m| bonds
MicroStrategy announces proposed private offering of $600m of convertible senior notes. MicroStrategy intends to use the net proceeds from the sale of the notes to acquire additional bitcoins.
12. Luxor Technologies| $725k|Argo Blockchain, Celsius Network, derivatives exchange Bitnomial and others| private round
Argo Blockchain, Celsius Network, derivatives exchange Bitnomial and others are backing a pre-seed investment in bitcoin mining startup Luxor Technologies. The Seattle-based startup raised $725k from a mix of strategic and angel investors.
13. Coinbase| $77b| evaluation
Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, which is preparing to trade publicly in the next few months, is being valued at $77b, based on trading of the company’s privately held shares on a secondary market NYSE (New York Stock Exchange).
14. BNY Mellon| news
The banking giant BNY Mellon, with $2.2t in assets under management and $41.1t in assets under custody and/or administration, announced its decision to hold, transfer and issue Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as an asset manager on behalf of its clients, potentially exposing this asset class to an entirely new section of investors.
15. Bluzelle |$500k|grant
Decentralized database service Bluzelle has decided to fight back so to speak. It has announced a $500k grant for censorship-resistant applications in what seems like a direct response to recent acts of online censorship by Big Tech.
16. HAPI| token sale
HAPI — The First Step For Hacken Ecosystem Transformation. The project will hold TGE in 3 rounds with following hard caps: $1.2m, $1.35m and $600k. After third round Uniswap listing is expected.
17. Showtime|undiscloused sum|Robot Ventures, Bollinger Investment Group and private investors| pre-seed
Showtime, the social network with NFT, attracted pre-seed funds from Robot Ventures, Bollinger Investment Group and private investors. The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
18. Miami 2.0 Blockchain Strategy Foundation |$5B| IBC Group |investments
Dubai based IBC Group has pledged 100k Bitcoin (current value of USD $5b) to setup the Miami 2.0 Blockchain Strategy Foundation and many other related Joint Venture Projects. The group backing of Miami 2.0 Blockchain Strategy could turbo-charge use of the cryptocurrency, which is estimated to transact USD $200b per day, by the end of this year.
19. Mask Network| $3m|Digital Currency Group, Fundamental Labs, Longling Capital and others| private round
Mask Network integrates decentralized social messaging, borderless payment network, and decentralized file storage and sharing to provide a safe and convenient portal for users to jump right into the continent of decentralized finance and then the new world of Web 3.0. The project raised $3m from Digital Currency Group, Fundamental Labs, Longling Capital, Animoca Brands, Moonwhale Ventures, Block0, 3Commas, AHP Investments and private investors. On February 22–23 team is planning to hold TGE in Twitter (ITO) and then LBP on Balancer.
20. Sota| $1.5m| IDO
The Modefi (oracle aggregator) sale has ended on TrustSwap, tokens are trading at 15x the token sale price. The next project on TrustSwap Launchpad will be Sota (NFT platform) which aims to raise $1.5m.
21. Polkastarter | IDOs

The Open Web Foundry is the third incubator programme run by Arweave. Already, more than $1m 250k in seed investments have been made across nearly a dozen participating projects.

Splyt’s blockchain NFT inventory database enables effortless & transparent sales, streamlines multi-platform affiliate sales, and eliminates liability between e-commerce platforms and supply chain. The project will hold a TGE on Ignition Platform from PAID Network.
26. Stone DeFi| $1.5m|Signum Capital, Arrington Capital, Longhash Ventures and others| private round
Stone DeFi is building the first liquid staking strategy for users to harness Rock Solid Yield from various Blockchains such as Ethereum 2.0, Polkadot, Solana, Oasis etc. Project raised $1.5m from Signum Capital, Arrington Capital, Longhash Ventures, TRGC, Dealean Capital, Nabais Capital, Hillrise Capital, YBB, PAKA, Stafi, Ankr, RAMP and others.
27. FMX| $1m|Kyros Ventures and Coin98 Ventures| private round
Coin98 Ventures has joined a $1m seed round in FMX, a cryptocurrency derivatives trading platform that aims to simplify and gamify futures trading. The seed round was led by Kyros Ventures, the investment branch of Coin68 Media.
28. Launchpool| undiscloused sum|Alphabit, FBG, Protocol Ventures and others| private round
Alphabit funds, FBG, Protocol Ventures, Jun Capital, GBIC, Alpha Sigma Capital, Master Ventures and A195 supported investment and financial platform Launchpool. Most likely, all funds invested in the functions of the initiative, but there is no information on the amount of investment.
29. Charged Particles|$750|The LAO and others| preseed
Charged Particles, an NFT and DeFi project, raised $750k from lead investor The LAO with contributions from ParaFi, CoinGecko, LongHash, MoonWhale, D64, Fourth Revolution Capital, Nalu Fund and private investors.
30. A2DAO| $0.5–1m| private round
A2DAO is an investment platform and accelerator for cryptocurrency startups. The project team began to conduct a seed and a private round, during which they will attract about $0.5–1m of investments. A2 has been working since 2017 in the form of pools in promising projects at an early stage, now it’s time for tokenization.
