- Jefferies| investment in bitcoin
Investment firm Jefferies ($ 51 billion in assets under management) invests in Bitcoin in one of its pension funds. The allocation in this particular fund is 45% in physical gold bullion, 30% in Asia ex-Japan equities, weighted according to the long-only thematic portfolio, 20% in unhedged gold mining stocks and 5% in Bitcoin. The share of gold has been reduced from 50% to 45%. Christopher Wood, the global head of equity strategy, says bitcoin’s share may increase in the future.

PoolTogether is a no loss prize game on the blockchain by generating income through DeFi protocols and transferring it to the winners. The project raised funds from the lead investor ParaFi Capital with the participation of Nascent, Robot Ventures, MetaCartel, The LAO, Houbi DeFi Labs and private investors.
3. MATH| $12m| Binance Labs and others| series B round
MATH, a multi-blockchain and cross-chain digital asset hub developing the MathWallet wallet, has raised $12m from a lead investor Binance Labs involving NGC Ventures, Capital6 Eagle and Amber Group.
4. Union Protocol| $3m| Placeholder and others| series B round
Union Protocol aims to create a global credit network that allows anyone or smart contract with access to Ethereum to receive loans. The project raised $3m from Placeholder, 1kx, CoinFund, Distributed Global, Spartan Group, Variant, KR1, Scalar, Defiance, Infinite Capital and private investors.
5. Coinbase| IPO
Crypto exchange Coinbase has filed documents with the SEC for an IPO. Goldman Sachs is expected to hold an IPO. Messari estimates the upcoming IPO at $28 billion. Not only mining companies will now be public.
6. Settle Network| $3m| Stellar Development Foundation| strategic round
Settle Network, a stablecoin exchange and payment provider. The project raised $3m from the Stellar Development Foundation. The startup focuses on the countries of Latin America.

Exeedme, a platform for gamers, raised funds from Moonrock Capital and became its incubation project. The amount of the transaction has not been disclosed, but it is known that the team allocated $ 900k tokens for private investment rounds.

Stablecoin operator Paxos raised $142m from lead investor Declaration Partners with PayPal, Mithril Capital, RIT Capital Partners, Alua Capital, Senator Investment Group, RFE Ventures, Liberty City Ventures and private investors.
11. FalconX| undisclosed sum| Amex Ventures| private round
Cryptocurrency trading platform FalconX has attracted investment from Amex Ventures (a subsidiary of American Express). FalconX already has over 250 institutional investors and has a monthly trading volume of around $3 billion.

The Chicago Board Options Exchange CBOE, in partnership with cryptocurrency data provider CoinRoutes, is set to launch cryptocurrency indices in Q2 2021.
13. Findora| $68m|Polychain Capital and others| private round
Findora, a blockchain with private aspects, has raised $68m from Polychain Capital, Allchaineed, Krypital Group, Axia8 Ventures, Cabin VC, Powerscale Capital and private investors. The project has been developed since 2017, according to our information, one of the key team members died during this time.
14. Ruffer Investment Company| $15.5m| investment in bitcoin
London-based asset manager Ruffer Investment Company ($20.3 billion under management) has announced that it has allocated 2.5% of one of its funds to invest in bitcoin, which is about $15.5m in absolute terms.

Lido Finance, Ethereum 2.0 staking provider with stETH derivative tokens on the stake, raised $2m from Semantic Ventures, ParaFi Capital, Terra, KR1, Stakefish, Staking Facilities and private investors.

SBI Holdings, the parent company of SBI Financial Services, is a long-term partner of payment protocol Ripple. SBI Financial Services acquired B2C2 cryptocurrency market maker.
17. Sovryn| $2.1m|Greenfield One and others| private round
Sovryn, a DeFi platform for bitcoin on the RSK sidechain, has raised $2.1m from lead investors Greenfield One, Collider Ventures and Monday Capital with Collider Labs and BlockVenture. Margin trading and swaps are already available.
18. Bonfida| $4.5m|CMS Holdings and others| private round
We wrote about IEO Bonfida on December 15th. The project reports that it raised $4.5m from the lead investor CMS Holdings with the participation of 3 Arrows Capital, Spartan Group, Genesis Block Ventures, Sino Global Capital, Fisher8 Capital, FBG Capital and Prophet Capital.
19. BambooDeFi| undisclosed sum|ChainX| IEO
BambooDeFi, a DeFi platform with farming, pools, airdrops and governance, will host an IEO in three phases on the ChainX crypto exchange. The token price will increase from €0.3 to €0.5. After IEO the token will be listed on Uniswap.
20. Safello| $1.3m|Digital Currency Group| strategic round
European crypto exchange Safello has raised about $1.3m from Digital Currency Group in preparation for its upcoming IPO on the Nasdaq’s First North Growth Market regulated exchange.
21. CI Financial Corp| $72m|TSE| bitcoin fund IPO
CI Financial Corp (about $167 billion in assets under management) has raised $72m for a bitcoin fund, which will be listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSE), Canada. On the backend, the fund’s transactions are handled by Galaxy Digital Group.
22. Unstoppable Domains| $1m| grant program
Unstoppable Domains, a blockchain domain solutions, announced that it will expand its grant program by an additional $1m to help dApps, DeFi applications, and exchanges maintain blockchain domains.
23. One River| $600m| investment in bitcoin and ethereum
Investment company One River has revealed that it owns bitcoin and ethereum in its funds for $600m, and in early 2021 plans to bring investments in cryptocurrency assets to $1 billion.
24. Conio| $14m|Banca Generali| series B round
Popular in Italy, the Conio cryptocurrency wallet has raised $14m from Banca Generali, a subsidiary of Italy’s largest insurer.
25. Bloccelerate| $12m| fund
Seattle-based venture capital firm Bloccelerate raised $12m to a crypto fund. The team is going to invest in 10–15 cryptocurrency projects at an early stage.
26. AlgoTrader| $5.8m|Finab EOS VC Fund| series A round
AlgoTrader, an institutional-grade algorithmic trading software solution available for the cryptocurrency markets, announced that Finab EOS VC Fund has invested a seven-digit amount in the company. This investment increases the company’s series “A” round volume to $5.8m. Round was led by Credit Suisse Entrepreneur Capital Ltd., joined by Investiere, Blockchain Valley Ventures and NeueCapital.
27. Beeple| $3.5m|Nifty Gateway| NFT auction
Mike Winkelmann, the legendary digital artist better known as Beeple, has raised a record $3.5m for his latest NFT collection “Everydays”. The auction was held on the Nifty Gateway platform.
28. Banxa| $50m|TSX| IPO
Banxa, an Australian cryptocurrency payments infrastructure provider, is set to conduct an IPO on the Canadian venture capital exchange TSX. The company is valued at $ 50m.
